BNP leader Hannan Shah laid to eternal rest

BNP standing committee member and a former minister Brigadier General (retd) ASM Hannan Shah, who died in Singapore on Tuesday, was buried at his native village Ghagutia under Kapasia upazila of the district this afternoon.

He was buried beside the grave of his mother at his family graveyard after two namaz-e-janazas on Bhawal Rajbari ground around 9am and Kapasia Pilot School ground around 11am, reports BSS.

Earlier, four other janazas of Hannan Shah were held at DOHS Mosque, South Plaza of the Jatiya Sangsad complex, in front of BNP headquarters and Mohakhali Gausul Azam Mosque in the capital.

He breathed his last at Raffles Heart Centre in Singapore at the age of 77.

On September 6, Shah was admitted to the Combined Military Hospital, Dhaka with severe chest pain. Later, he was sent for overseas treatment on September 11.

The senior BNP leader left behind his wife, two sons and a daughter to mourn his death.
