Stokes, Buttler power England to 309-8 Desk:

A maiden ODI century from England's Ben Stokes led his team to 309 for eight, having won the toss in the first one-day international against Bangladesh in Dhaka on Friday.

Debutant Ben Duckett added a valuable 60 and stand-in captain, Jos Buttler, smashed an unbeaten 63 off only 38 balls at the business-end of the innings to take England past the 300-run mark, reports SuperSport.

Stokes finished with 100-ball 101, an innings which included eight fours and four sixes.

Shafiul Islam and Mashrafe Mortaza both took two wickets.

Bangladesh left out Soumya Sarkar, Nasir Hossain and Al-Amin Hossain, while England handed an ODI debut to 21-year-old left-handed batsman Ben Duckett and paceman Jake Ball at the Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium.
