AR Rahman, Akon concert lights up ICC World Cup T20 opening Desk, Dhaka:

As part of the gala celebration and spectacular opening of the ICC World Cup T20, Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has organized "BCB Celebration Concert" featuring the living Indian music legend AR Rahman and Senegalese American R&B artist Akon who lighted up the opening ceremony on Thursday at Bangabandhu National Stadium.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is expected to present in the gala opening ceremony, which will kick start at 4:30 pm at the prime auditorium.

According to the reports, the total project cost of the event is Tk 14-18 crores and it is fully funded by the BCB as the ICC did not provide any sanction for the event.

Indian Most popular Music Director, Singer and writer AR Rahman already reached in Bangladesh on Tuesday with his 130 associates to perform the spectacular live concert.

Apart from AR Rahman, famed singer Runa Laila, Sabina Yeasmin,

Kumar Biswajit, Mamtaj, LRB, Miles, Ornob of Bangladesh will also render songs at the concert.

The history of cricket will uphold using three dimensions technology before start of the concert of AR Rahman. The concert will end with massive display of fireworks heralding the opening of the ICC World Cup T20.

The gates of the stadium will open for the ticket holders at 3:00pm on Thursday for the opening ceremony and concert.
