7 JMB members held with booty in city

Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime Unit (CTTCU) in an overnight raid arrested seven members of Jama'atul Mujahidin Bangladesh (JMB), an outlawed militant organization, with looted goods and firearms from Tejgaon area in the capital city, reports BSS.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Mohammad Yusuf Ali of DMP (Dhaka Metropolitan of Police) media wing told BSS that members of Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime Unit (CTTCU) arrested them last night.
The arrestees were identified as Mohammad Kashem alias Kawsar alias Kashu, 20, Nazmul Hasan alias Nayan alias Noresh, 23, Mohammad Rashed alias Kakoly's Baba, 27, Mohammad Sentu Hawlader alias Jahid, 26, Mohammad Abu Bakkar Siddique alias Shuro alias Akash, 20, Mohammad Abdul Baset, 22, and Mohammad Jewel Sarker alias Sohrab alias Sarker, 32.
"Some 68 tolas of gold, Taka six lakh, four pistols, five magazines, 10 bullets, nine machetes, two knives, 10 mobile phone sets, two Televisions, four cameras, eight bottles of chemical substances, three packets of chemical powder four gold-weighting machines, two laptops, one motorbike and one imitation box were also recovered from their possessions." he added.
Earlier, CTTCU Chief Monirul Islam said the JMB members and other militant outfits are now managing funds through robberies as they need more financial support to carry out different terrorist attacks like the Gulshan Holey Artisan Cafe.
"The JMB members, in disguise of tenants, entered into the house and capture the inmates at gunpoint and snatched gold ornaments and cash," Monirul told a press conference this noon at DMP media centre.
