The prosecution story, in brief, is that Abdur Rahman alias Riyad, 25, a BBA student of Uttara University and son of expatriate Khaza Mainuddin of Shenbag upazila in Noakhali district, used to live in Tongi for study purpose.
Riyadh was acquainted with Lipi while studying in a coaching centre at Uttara. Later, Lipi took Riyadh to her husband Sagar in Jamalpur with a promise to give him a job on July 23, 2013. Sagar demanded Taka 30 lakh as ransom to Riyadh's father on that day.
As they failed to give the ransom money, Sagar along with his associates killed Riyadh.
A case was filed in this connection with Tongi Thana.
Later, RAB arrested Sagor. Police after investigation, submitted a charge-sheet against the four people.
