Prophet’s Mosque Imam conducts Juma at Baitul Mukarram
A special munajat (prayer) was offered after Juma prayers at Baitul Mukarram National Mosque in the city, seeking peace, safety, unity and welfare of the Muslim Ummah.
Thousands of devotees joined the prayers as Imam and Khatib of Masjid-e Nababi (the Prophet’s mosque) Abdulmehsin bin Mohammad Bin Abdul Rahman Al-Qasim led the Juma congregation and conducted the munajat.
The devotees were seen to enter the mosque since 10 am amid tight security to take part in the prayers.
They were also seen offering prayers on the adjoining roads due to scarcity of space inside the mosque.
Vice President of two holy mosques in Mecca and Madina Dr Mohammad Bin Nasser Bin Mohammad Al Khuzaim and other entourage members were present at the Baitul Mukarram.
Industries Minister Amir Hossain Amu, Religious Affairs Minister Principal Motiur Rahman, Shipping Minister Shajahan Khan and other political leaders took part in the prayers, among others.
The visiting Saudi delegation came to Bangladesh at the invitation of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
